| Cape Town MyCiTi bus station |
Because I dare to dream. We can't all make it to the masonic lodges under a third degree anointment that allows one to construct cityscapes as we go...but we can try. What do Freemasons have to do with anything?...well, EVERYTHING OF CAUSE!!
Yes, I have recently put myself out there and applied for one of the most amazing opportunities for me this year. I have been burning the midnight oil by trying to create a MyCiti bus terminal...as a canvas. After having discussion with one of my homeys about, I decided to push myself and go against the odds.
What odds? Well, I found out about this 2 days ago. Deadline today. So meaning, no time to research, no time draft a proper proposal that might actually get me considered. No time to create a new 2D artwork. All I had was my Canon 1100D, and an amazing girl by my side driving along the coast of Camps Bay and Klifton Beach, on a sunset, taking reference pictures of MyCiti bus stations. And this is all yesterday. It all sounds romanticized and sensationalised, but, that's how we roll yo!
I really hope I get the go ahead to finish this project because, well, I will have something to do. And I will be in the leagues of the legendary local hero of Cape Town, Freddy Sam.
I hope they like my work, fingers crossed, clinched cheeks and I dead man's pot plant to turn the wheels of fate my way...
Suddenly, I feel superstitious!!!

The Figments
This is yet another rebirth of new month, in the Gregorian; dubbed November. And just this morning, our blog administrator reported that’s she’s not going to be in the office because she has to give in some urine samples…
(Clear throat)I digress. We (meaning I) have been playing around with the camera- lens with a couple of friends, we call them The Figments. This is what we did this weekend thanks to the brilliant overcast Cape Townian weather. I do not even know what’s more interesting, the story behind the masks, the characters, the subject, or the final shorts themselves.
According to a noble friend of ours, Mr. Donovan Marais, the bright sunshine we had hoped for, for the shoot was not going to be good for the output. And he’s worked behind the lens for a few years now, and his on-location shoots have displayed quiet a remarkable grasp of the light manipulation, striking a fine balance between submitting to the laws that be, and concurring the laws themselves. Needless to say, he "digs" the shots. After I enquired if he thought the pictures were too “morbid”, He exclaimed, in a not so-containable vocal-outburst… “WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO CHEER UP DEBS!!? WHO ARE YOU TO TRYING TO CHEER UP!!??”… He’s going to be a good father one day with that attitude!
The Overhead Projector and Donovan are currently working on a project together. Check out he's photography on 4thterrordactyl via our link page. The rest of the pictures are still in the post-production process. So this is just an idea of the rest.
Thanks to the team that helped out for setting up the shoot. You know who you are!
Critique!

I rather be designing

Ok, here's the thing. We all know that there are a lot of money related issues going around the globe, from China, Japan, Korea, To Ghana, Egypt and Somalia. We are all placed in this world to take part is something, figuring out our life's individual purpose is a life-long journey on its own. But instead of being a pretentious self dubbed "liberal" who gets drunk and tries to ague politics and global matters that are beyond me...well I rather be designing.
